At Warrnambool West, we know that a child who feels safe, connected and supported learns better. Wellbeing isn't a separate program bolted onto the school day. It runs through everything we do.

What this looks like for your child
We have a dedicated Wellbeing Coordinator on staff, supported by a team of trained teachers and community partners. Whether your child needs a check-in, targeted support or just someone to talk to, we have people and structures in place to make sure no child slips through the cracks.
Our approach covers three areas: emotional wellbeing, social connection and physical health. We work across all three because we know they're connected.
How we work with families
You know your child best. When concerns come up, we want to hear from you early, and we'll do the same. Our teachers and wellbeing staff keep families informed and involved, not just when things go wrong but as a regular part of how we communicate.
Our behaviour approach
We use consistent, respectful approaches to behaviour across the whole school. Students learn to understand their own actions, repair relationships when things go wrong, and build the self-regulation skills they'll carry with them long after primary school.
We also run the A Big Life program across the school, building a common language around resilience, connection and navigating life's harder moments.
