Children need to be prepared for the important step of starting school and we believe it is important for Home and School to work in partnership to get your child off to a good start.
Each year, during November and December, we conduct our transition program, Getting to Know You.
Our Transition Program provides time for your child to attend school, time for parents to get to know each other and the teachers. Sessions will provide you with vital information to assist with a happy start to school.
All new Foundation students are invited to be involved in the Transition process. This involves small groups of children coming to school to join in typical Foundation classes. There are also mornings when all new Foundation students attend together. These follow Parent Information sessions when parents are given an overview of school programs and school operations.

Year 6 students are involved in a transition program with the local Secondary Colleges towards the end of their final year in Primary School. This includes a visit to their neighbourhood Secondary College to participate in various programs, and visits from college staff and students to our school and classrooms.
Year 6 students and their parents receive information regarding local Secondary Colleges and have the opportunity to visit these schools according to that school’s transition program. They also attend the State wide Orientation Day in early December. Parents receive information about this day closer to the date.
