From their very first day, every student at Warrnambool West Primary School joins a House. It becomes a place of connection, belonging and pride throughout their time here. Our Foundation induction ceremony welcomes students into their House group, creating a supportive network that stays with them throughout their primary school journey.
Our Four Houses
Our House names were chosen entirely by our Student Leaders during our 50th Anniversary in 2016, drawing from local Aboriginal language and native wildlife. Each House is aligned with one of our core school values:
|
"Be Safe" |
"Be a Learner" |
|
"Be Inclusive" |
"Show Respect" |
Earning House Points
Linking our Houses to school values gives students a clear, everyday way to guide their behaviour. Students earn House Points by demonstrating these values in the classroom, on the playground, and within the wider community.
While events such as sports carnivals bring Houses together in spirited competition, it is the everyday actions of students that make the biggest difference. Each point contributes to the annual House Cup, encouraging teamwork, responsibility and school spirit.
Our House System is more than colours or competitions. It helps students feel a strong sense of belonging, encourages participation, and supports them to grow as part of a connected school community.
