All Victorian government schools have a School Council, a legally formed body with real responsibility for shaping the direction of the school. At Warrnambool West, our School Council plays an active role in the life of our community.

What School Council does

School Council is responsible for:

1. Finance: approving the annual budget and monitoring expenditure.
2. Strategic Planning: participating in the development and review of the school's strategic plan.
3. Policy Development and Review: developing and reviewing policies that reflect our school's values and broad direction.

There are also a range of broader governance functions that Council oversees throughout the year.

When we meet

Our School Council meets on the third Monday of every month during the school year. Meetings are open, and all community members are welcome to attend.
